Sage essential oil is steam distilled from the flowers of the Salvia sclarea plant. Sage oil has been used to treat skin infections, soothe and calm the skin, and to treat acne. In aromatherapy sage oil is used to enhance the immune system, calm digestive disorders, and reduce inflammation associated with eczema.

The aroma of sage oil also reportedly enhances one’s ability to dream and is very calming and reduces anxiety. Sage oil mixes well with citrus oils as well as lavender, geranium, and frankincense.
