This essential oil has a scent similar to Lavender. Lavandin is commonly used as an ingredient for products that people with cold sores would purchase. People also use it when they have muscle, or joint pain. For those looking for congestion relief, Lavandin mixes well with eucalyptus.

Lavandin essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering top of a hybrid plant that was developed by crossing true lavender with spike lavender. Lavandin oil, although very similar to lavender oil, differs in one distinct way.

Lavandin is a stronger antiseptic that true lavender due to its natural camphor content. Due to the camphor component lavandin should not be used to treat burns, but it is well suited for other topical uses such as for aching muscles and certain respiratory conditions such as colds and coughs.
